What is smart scheduling?

Smart scheduling in OskarOS is a dynamic feature designed to optimize your booking schedule, whether you're incorporating free time or not. It allows for flexible scheduling intervals to maximize resource utilization efficiently.

Smart scheduling in action

The 2-hour power slot:

• Scenario: You have a meeting room available from 8 AM to 6 PM and want to offer fixed two-hour slots.
• Process: In "Settings" > "Booking Options," set the booking interval to 120 minutes.

• Outcome: The system automatically creates slots at 8 AM, 10 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, and 4 PM.

Incorporating breather time:

• Enhancement: Add a 30-minute free time between each slot for preparation.
• Adjustment: Set the free time to 30 minutes in the same section.

• Result: Post an 8 AM to 10 AM booking, the next available slots are at 12 PM, 2 PM, and 4 PM.

Leveraging smart scheduling:

• Setup: Enable smart scheduling to account for the added prep time.
• Configuration: Activate smart scheduling in your booking options.

• Magic: The system intelligently spaces out four slots at 10:30 AM, 1 PM, and 3:30 PM, including free time.

Flexible interval booking:

• Setup: Maintain the 2-hour booking duration but allow booking every 30 minutes.
• Configuration: Set a 30-minute booking interval with a 120-minute minimum and maximum duration.

• Flexibility: Slots become available every 30 minutes after the initial booking, until 4 PM.

The time warp scenario:

• Customization: Set 60-minute intervals, allowing bookings up to 240 minutes with a 120-minute minimum.
• Adjustment: Update the booking options to reflect these new intervals.

• Versatility: First booking starts at 10:30 AM, with additional slots at 1 PM and 3:30 PM. Customers can choose ending times within the specified range.
